They look to be about the same price and do about the same thing.

Thank god Power Pole has a competitor... maybe the price will slide a little now.

Power Pole is hydraulic, has a hinged operating arm and takes a bunch of space to mount. Talon is electric, moves straight up and down and takes much less space. Talon is supposed to be less expensive as well. I have only read about it and not actually seen it, but to me the Talon system looks better.

What happens if you lose power with the Talon? How do you get it back up?

Also, electric components and saltwater do not mix well.

no parts mix with saltwater too well. I have electric trim tabs vs hydraulic, because they are said to hold up better....fwiw

Power pole is an amazingly good add on to any boat, WISH I had one! Haven't seen the Minn Kota product in person to have a recommendation.

the minn kota is about $300.00-$500.00 less when you factor all of the accessories that are packaged with it

I really want one

Hydraulic parts do, and if they fail you can always disconnect the hoses and pick it up manually.

How do you clean the pole on the Talon, I know the powerpole you can take manually the pole out and wash the saltwater off.
