Popping cork found inside redfish

A vaguely remember a picture of a redfish with a small gatorade bottle in its stomach.

I have had one hit mine, and subsequently get wrapped up in the line and hooked in the side. A redfish will hit a flip flop floating in the water.

I broke of on a medium sized red once, tied on the same bait and caught him on the next cast with my old bait in his mouth.

I have caught zero redfish on top water lures yet I have had two reds take a cork completely in their mouth and swim away. I almost netted one of them but he spit it out at the yak.

I've only done that a few times. Those frickers will completely miss on their strike and try again like they are pissed off at the lure.

If I buy you a poppin cork colored topwater would you atleast give it a shot? You want a florescent pink, orange or chartreuse?

100% agree. And that's the only way to really learn is to go out and just throw topwater all day.
