Anyone have any experience fishing there? If so, what are the best conditions, set ups and locations. Evidently it's not far from where I will be teal hunting and I want to do a blast and cast.

Been out that way a few times, but it always seemed like the water was dirty. Usually there are bunches of boats anchored up fishing what I assume is live bait.

LOTS of experience there. my dad used to have a fish/duck camp in that area before andrew.
same conditions as most areas in terebone parish: west wind and high atachafalya river are kiss of death (usually)

I have been fishing at Point Au Fer for 40+ years, in particular Locust Bayou and going west. Generally the fishing is better on an outgoing tide. I fish with dead shrimp on the bottom but do use a cork on occasion. I usually fish mouths of sloughs, reefs and points of land. Too numerous to describe here, you need to be shown the areas.

What I have found is a north wind is bad. Brings in a lot of dirty water and usually rough conditions. In the winter I fish the canals on the inside of the island.
