He hunts whatever's in the back yard, does that count?

He is a hunting dog, but unfortunately I'm a fishing human...

The black is my female.
The two yellows are show champions. All are Dickendall Arnold/Ruffy dogs.

And I had one also who chose not to hunt.

She's silver and she has what it takes to hunt. Both her parents were champions, but she has had some knee problems and is just getting to the point that I would be comfortable pushing her. Thinking about sending her to the trainer soon.

How old is she? Some of my labs had growing type pains/injuries when they were very young (8 months and younger) but they grew out of it.

And my lab who choose not to hunt did not like to fetch and was gun shy. Not a very good combination.

It's off my phone. I uploaded it on imageshack.

That pic was in Jan. He'll turn 12 this Dec.
He has some gray under his chin.

He scared the hell out of my wife and I about two weeks ago. He had a seizure at 5:30am in the morning. He had never had one before.
I took him to the vet who was great and from LSU.

I had to take again two days later for another one. He's on phenobarb now-seizure med twice a day.
He was sedated when he was first put on it.
Now he's used to it.

She's about one and a half now. She had a torn meniscus. She'll hunt, but I have been slow to send her to the trainer, one because of her injury and two because I just don't duck hunt as much as I used to. Just love having a lab around.

And know how to use it. Hence her being on the couch right now with her head on the keyboard.

Damn, that sucks. Was you hunting with it or did id just get out and get in a fight with one?

Hogs are nasty animals. I've done some man drives through the marsh for them. Even had one charge one of us.

Sorry to hear that. I put mind down last year. He was 10.5. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

Sounds like Bubba was doing his job. I love animals that still know how to do their jobs (coming from a guy with a gun shy feist). I have spent many hours sewing up hog dogs for friends and family. Those dogs are f'n warriors.

That was on a hunt. He gets used a lot and has no fear. Here's the results of him on a sow with 2 cubs. Great dog, but he probably won't make it to 4 years old.
