I always laugh when I hear a guy loyal to one brand bash another. Minus the cool factor, the best guys to ask are the ones at the autopsies. What they'll say is that the round is a whole lot more important than the gun. What they are saying right now is that 9mm's kill the best.

Vs. What? a .32 or .380?

Gangsta Violence will see 9mm and down as far as caliber. I will trust the .45s combat history of laying pipe for 100 plus years over urban domestic and drug violence shootings.

Edit: Congrats on that Glock. Nothing wrong with a pistol that shoots, cycles, and repeats every damned time. Love mine, but like my children- I love all my pistols equally. It's just that some are more equal than others.

The guy at the autopsy doesn't see any survivors, so he wouldn't know what kills best, only what kills most.

And that's what I love about Glocks - reliability. You pick it up, pull the trigger, and the motherfricker goes bang.... Are there other pistols that are more aesthetically pleasing or have a better grip? Sure. But that's not why you own a Glock.

This is what drives me up a wall about Glock owners.

These two attributes are NOT mutually exclusive. You can buy a gun that has both.

Whatever... It's like talking to a wall...

A wall of lead from a 17 round magazine!

Confidence in the weapon is key. I see lots of guys fiddling with their 1911s as much as shooting them at the range. Maybe that's why they are there, to iron out issues and tweak the gun. I don't see too many people (read none) trying to get their Glock to feed or switching out 10 different magazines to see which one will feed with dependability or stacking 5 different boxes of ammo to determine which one feeds/fires.

I love the look, heft, and feel of a 1911. I just don't want to tell myself that it is a better platform due to aesthetics.

Direct knock off of Glock just like every other gun S&W has ever made...
