I take it you went with aluminum? I have non insulated aluminum and while I love the maintenence free... any amount of rainfall is deafening and hard rain can be heard throughout the house. I'm interested in seeing if insulated quits noise from rainfall?

Yes the quote is for
3" insulated aluminum cover. I would imagine the insulation would help with temp and sound.

Great decision. I did mine 5 years ago. They framed with 2" square tubing and roofed with aluminum sheeting. 25'x25' with 3 cypress 8x8 beams for supports (I provided beams) $3,800.

Since then, the square tubing has started rusting. A neighbor used the 3" insulated aluminum, and I am extremely jealous of his build.

Question for you. Patio cover will be sandstone (light beige), what color gutter did you use? Not sure if we sound match gutter to aluminum top or go darker to blend in better with post

Mine is mess as he'll at the moment. Really wish I would've gone about 6-7 deeper. With a fireplace in the middle. But oh well now.

Eta- the shades are a MUST have

I'd go darker like a dark taupe color and blend with beams, but I stained my beams dark brown (Jacobean stain) in order for them to get away from that wet new cypress look. Im just gonna let the stain fade and the beams slowly go to the gray weathered look.

Geaux1...can you get some pics of this completed build? I'm looking to add something to the house I just purchased now. This thread seems to be the most informative.

Wondering if the OP could post some pics. I had creative patio come out yesterday to work up a quote. Wondering also if you were pleased with their work.

Sorry guys, I'm just seeing this again.

Yes creative patio was the only quote I got. Spoke to many of my neighbors and the ones who used creative are pleased and it shows compared to others not done by them near me.

Very pleased with the work. I'm working nights will try to post pics tomorrow or by the weekend for sure.

If you are doing wood cabinets you might want to rethink that lion grill. They don't make a Heat guard for it so I had to switch to the blaze.
