Is Otterbox and Lifeproof still pretty much the standard for ruggedized phone cases? I haven't had to buy one for years but my current case is worn out

thanks

I have a Pelican and my only complaint is that the rubber covers for the bottom ports have all ripped off. The charge port did not last long, the others lasted a little over a year.

Each lifeproof i have had both had rubber buttons break after a year. Filed a claim on both and wham-o, new lifeproof shows up a few days later. I havent tried pelican but I really like my lifeproof nuud. The old lifeproof was a PITA with the plastic screen. The nuud seals directly to your screen so you are typing on the actual screen and not a cover.

My phone is the 6 plus. I had the lifeproof nuud on it and had to have it replaced about three or four times. I finally asked if I could get the lifeproof fre when it came out. They swapped no problem and I've had this one for I guess a year or more with no issues at all.

Lifeproof is now owned by Otterbox, but the Otterbox brand no longer handles any waterproof cases

I bought a Lifeproof when I got my Droid Maxx 2 and nobody could hear me talk when I had it on. It's the one with a clear plastic cover on both sides from the Verizon store. Wasted 90.00 IMO.

I have the life proof nuud on my iphone 6. Everything works great except no one can hear me when I'm on the phone.... Which is kind of a big deal.

Unicorn beetle Supcase on amazon.

How strong is it?

I use my phone to open beers.

There are light scratches on my favorite corner.

ETA: it is not water proof. It is water resistant.

Those complaining about the otter box and pelican rubber covers will love the Unicorn Beetle.

I had a Casio GZ-one a while back, and that was the toughest phone ever. I dropped it about 35ft onto concrete, used to check water temperatures with it, and even dropped it in a fire for a few minutes.

After the fire incident, I went to buy a new one, and they didn't sell them anymore. Still worked fine, but the talking part got sort of melted, and people couldn't hear me well. I used it for a little while longer for texting and internet, and got a wussy phone

Yep, I replaced my Pelican before duck season last year and the volume controls ripped off a couple weeks ago. Do y'all use the screen protector with the Pelican? I tossed my 1st one after a couple weeks because it would bubble. Didn't even try it on my 2nd, the Pelicans are not water proof they are water resistant so I figure as long as the plugs are covered they are good.

I was an early adopter of the Pelican cases, did anyone else use the one for the iPhone 5 that required an Allen wrench to take apart? That was a case, it was ridiculously big but was the real deal.

May have to check out that Beatle, before teal season starts.

I have a friend that flooded in port Vincent. Said he had his Samsung S6 active in his pocket in chest deep water. Got to dry land and pulled it out and started texting, never missed a lick
