I would say high pressure jet issue. May need to pull and clean carbs

frick. I really don't want to pull the carbs bc I don't know what I'm doing. I can figure it out but goddamn.

I was gonna say definitely high pressure jets too and I would
Bring it in if you aren't sure what your doing. Won't me more than 200-300 if they're an honest mechanic. But with it being that new it may should be EFI and I don't know crap about them

The easiest way is to pour can into 1 gallon of gas. Drop fuel line into this and run it. Smoke city.
This way. Add oil if you are mixing oil with your gas at 50/1.
Run it on a hose/muffs for 15 minutes at a time and let it sit for 30 minutes. repeat a couple time. For the third time, run it 15 and then shut it off. Best to let it sit overnight.
On a side note. Were ever you do this, a shite load of carbon will come out the motor. DON"T do this on concrete, or you going to have one hell of a stain. Also, if done in the yard, the grass will die in the drain area.

Does your 150 Yamaha have a filter on the motor too? Is that the in-line filter you are talking about?

I had issues somewhat similar and some one told me it may be the prop and of course I didn't believe them. But it was. Got the boat off of someone and the prop was old and some what beat up. Took it to a place in town and a lady waited on me talking anout angles and shite on the blades. Didn't believer her and after a few more trips to the lake I got a new prop and problem solved.

Yes. It has been replaced although it was clean. I now have a spare.

I'm no help because my 200 pro V is doing the same thing. I tell you what I have done so far. I took the carbs off last summer and cleaned them.(it was easy but I didn't really know what I was doing and probably missed a jet) It ran better but still not wide open. and if you hit the choke it would rev higher. Brought the boat home and took carbs off and had a friend take them and clean them. Ran better last weekend but still not wide open. after running about 50 miles on Saturday, Sunday morning it ran wide open on the way out. on the way back in it was down about 800 rpm at wot.
I am going to change the spark plugs this weekend and see if maybe that helps. one might not be firing good.

I had a buddy of mine pull the carbs off motor and clean them. He did not break them down and clean but cleaned what he could see.
I also pulled the inline fuel filter(attached to motor)and dumped the gas and cleaned it. Had a few specks of orange flakes but nothing "gummy".
I also pulled the spark plugs and cleaned them.
Have checked prop. No dings, its nice and tight.
Have run about 20 gallons of gas (non ethonal) with seafoam through engine
Still having the same issue.
Guess I have to bring it in but its gonna be $300 to break down carbs and clean everything.

I hope that's all mine will cost when this is all said and done.

Did you change spark plugs? I had the same thing after a lot of idling in the backs of creeks last spring. I used a bottle of Yamaha shock fuel treatment and changed plugs, don't know if it was the fuel treatment as it was $40 but one or the other fixed it. If you do use the sea foam you will have to change plugs anyway. Good luck no worries, easy fix. Once you run a Yammy you won't ever switch.

Or I could still have my mercury with a huge hole in the block:

or my three that never had an issue other than one power pack

Mercurys are for ponds and pools.
