150 HP Yamaha two stroke carbs. Seems like a fuel issue. I have very minor rpm fluctuations at cruise speed but when I punch it, it completely bogs down. I have changed the in line filter and the fuel water separator. Only thing I can figure is that the carb is clogged.

What's the most badass way to run seafoam through it? Or should I just treat the tank with a can or two?

Get a couple of cans the spray Seafoam. Take the engine cover off and filter, start engine bring idle up spray until you choke the engine. let it rest for 15 min, start up and repeat.

Check your fuel line if it's got any age to it

This is a great way to decarb and engine, but a very bad way to clean jets that are inside of the carb. bowl. One easy way to clean slightly dirty jets is to buy a can of engine de-carb foam. Remove fuel line that supplys fuel directly to carbs, drain bottom carb bowls. Replace drain plug and use included spray tube to fill all carb bowls with foam. (you may have to cut screw nozzle from suppled nozzle so tube will fit into fuel line. Also a zip tie help to seal this connection..) Allow to sit in sun for a day soaking, drain carbs. Buy case of beer, pick up the honeys, a roll out!!

I have been having the same issue with my 115 Yamaha 2 stroke. It cranks fine, runs really smooth till about 4000 rpms. Anything above 4000rpms and it fluctuates (quick hesitations). Its seems to stop at full throttle, but I only get about 5000 rpms as opposed to normal 5500.

If I try to slam the throttle from idle (when I am trying to get someone up on skis) it bogs down.

I have tried seaform just in the tank and it did not help. Never tried to pour directly into carb.

Seems like the high pressure jets are clogged.

The easiest way is to pour can into 1 gallon of gas. Drop fuel line into this and run it. Smoke city.

Check your prop it could be slipping at high rpms.

If it is slipping wouldn't it rev up instead of down?

Make sure all of your fuel lines are in good shape. I had a similar issue and my fuel line from water separator to motor was all gummed up inside. Bad fuel had eaten away at inside and was restricting fuel flow. Hope this helps
