First off, Jellyfish are everywhere!
Staying at the turquoise and catching flounder in the surf on plastic minnows. Average catching about a couple a day. i gigged a 21" fish in the surf a couple years ago, but this 16" is my largest on Rod/reel in the surf:

I'm at the turquoise as well. Jellyfish ate my lunch yetrrday. Not as bad today. All I've caught were hardheads.

I've been fishing mid-morning til noon east of the towers. wade out to just above belly button and throw as for as I can. Using root beer colored killer flats minnow. New penny gulp have worked in the past too.

We lucked into the penthouse unit here based on our original room not being as advertised. Everyone looks at us pretty funny when we press the top floor in elevator.

So is the bigger one a gulf flounder and smaller one a southern flounder? Most of the ones we get in Texas look like the smaller guy, except bigger.

I believe so. I think it's pretty common to catch both in the surf at the beach.
