I'm getting a new bow. Been shooting a Hoyt for 11 years.

I'm looking at Z7's.

The reviews don't have anything bad to say. Anybody here shoot one?

TIA

I don't think you can say anything bad about any of the new bows out there.

Try a No Cam HTR first!

No Cam

Been seeing these a lot.

What's the best part about that type of bow. I've got a cam and a 1/2 Hoyt. Don't understand the appeal of a no cam.

They are soooo smooth and ridiculously quite. Like, nothing on the strings and noticeably more quite than every other bow at the range.

I guess you mean the no cam.

Is there no let off? I understand how it would be a smooth draw, but a little more difficult to hold back?Maybe not. I don't know.

Do they sacrifice fps as a result?

Just like the reviews I've read.

I have a 12 or so year old Mathews Q2. It has never failed me, but I'm getting the new bow itch myself.

Sorry....yes the no cam. My old man has one and it impresses me everytime I hear him shoot it. It is also very forgiving. I LOVE my bow (Chill-r) but had I known the no cam was coming out less than two weeks after I bought it I would be shooting a no cam right now. And to make sure I am clear, I LOVE my bow, but I would trade it for a no cam right now.

Have you shot the Elite bows? I am a Hoyt man too but Elite is making converts out of many of my podnuhs.

The no cam is a little slower than the chill-r but it is right there with the Halon-7. And with less crap on the string (silencers,...) you give up less of the IBO rating. Plenty of let off and so so smooth. I was drawing back a no cam ~7#s heavier then my bow and could barely tell.

I know a guy that just sold a brand new elite the same day he shot a halon.

Side note. Mathews always releases their new hunting bows middle / end of November. Just throwing that out there.

Yes, big time.I'm a fanboi, and I'd rather keep my ancient LX than switch to a no cam. I shot one side by side with a Chill. I expected to hate the Chill. It was almost as smooth, but way faster than the No Cam.

Can't go wrong with a Z7.

Z7 IBO = 332fps
No-Cam HTR IBO = 330fps
Chill-R IBO = 342fps

No cam is 321 ibo at 85% let off. I'm betting it doesn't actually reach that. It's sloooooow. Mathews will either tweak the crap out of it or abandon it.

The one I shot was 75% letoff and I couldn't tell much of a difference between my chill-r at 80%. So much so that I put the 75% rock mods on my chill not that long after and really like them.

Was the no cam you experienced the HTX or HTR or the original?
