Open Carry in LA

Are you guys allowed to open carry there? A guy here at work said he heard a bill passed in the state allowing open carry. He asked me because he knows I'm originally from LA and I didn't have a clue because I've been gone so long I've lost touch with LA laws. Told him I definitely knew where I could get the info though.

Perfectly legal here.

Typically, yes, but businesses also have a right of refusal. Basically, malls and shops and places can have a "firearm free" policy.

Thank you Gents. I'll pass it along. Knew the OB would come through in a timely fashion!

The bill your buddy is talking about only deals with restaurants and bars:
House Bill 48
It was originally intended to allow off-duty cops only to bring guns into "establishments serving alcohol," but it was amended to allow all citizens to open carry there.
Again, I don't think this affects a business owner's right of refusal. A bar or restaurant should still be well within their rights to ask you to leave.
