Boat is brand new and the orange reverse polarity light stays on. Anyone know what action is needed to take?

A new charger or new battery?

Likely a charger if everything is brand new. Just check the batteries on another charger.

Could actually be hooked up backwards. If two batteries are they connected in Series or parallel?

To fix the issue the book says to reverse connections. So that means put red charger wires on negative black on red post?

Do you have a volt meter? How many batteries are you dealing with?

There are a whole lot of variables here like single or dual bank charger. If it is a 12 volt charger and you put the red wire on the positive and black on the negative of the battery and it still says reverse polarity you may actually have a faulty charger.

That's what it is saying. And its a dual bank charger. You think it could ruin the battery if I do what the book says and reverse the charger cables?

Not if you just hook it up for a second just to see if the light goes out.

Take it back to where you bought it and make them fix it.

It should be fused, if it is, it will blow the fuse as soon as you hook it up under charge.
