I'm too lazy to look it up but there is a very good thread on ARFCOM in the Build it Youself sectuon by Boris about molding you're own at home as long as you have a lower to make the mold from.

Tnarmsco isn't diy. They do make the more reliable of the poly lowers though. They do have 80 percent kits though. So it is kinda diy.

Who's built a 6.5 Grendel? Is it possible to get a good barrel and bolt for less than $300? I don't need that .12 MOA accuracy those guys on the 65grendel forums seem to all get. I want good practical accuracy to take down hogs or deer in a AR platform. 1.5-2 MOA with decent hunting ammo is all I need for shots out to 200-250 yards. Surely I don't need a $400 barrel to get that out of a 6.5 Grendel? Will probably be run with Wolf steel ammo most of the time. WOuld love a chrome lined steel barrel instead of a stainless barrel which most everyone seems to sell.

Looking hard at this one.

So I see PSA has geissele triggers on sale for labor day. I have PSA's enhanced polished trigger on my AR. It has no creep and feels very smooth to me.

Other than the 3 gun competition style triggers, what's the deal with these triggers like geissele and ALG defense? Are they worth the money?

Almost feel like a caveman saying my current trigger feels fine to me in this board lol. Not having shot one of the others I guess I don't have anything to compare mine to other than a regular mil-spec trigger

I ordered an SSA for Mrs. Midnight's general purpose lower.

It's tough to find folks who complain about the Geissele triggers, except about the price, so it's best to get them on sale, right?

From what I've read, they get pretty good reviews. But you also have to buy new kns pins to install it, so add another 20/30 bucks to that. Might as well just get a cmc that is drop in for another 20 bucks.

Ps, I don't know much about what goes on down there installation wise, but I watch there installation video and mentioned needing special pins

You can't compare anything to Geiselle triggers IMHO. Primary Arms had them for even cheaper, $170 shipped next day for me. Usually they are $220-240

yes, it's awesome.

i've run both it and the SSA-E in separate carbine classes. dominated close-range speed drills with the SD3G, but my performance suffered on the transitions to long range targets. They each have their strengths

So I'm starting to think about optics. I've always been an irons guy but I may out a scope on my new build. Looking at some of these variable power scopes like Vortex VX-T Patrol. Any other options under 1K I should look at?

Here's a good review I watched a few minutes ago for the scopes
