Should I pin my gas block or just use the set screws?
Depends on how rugged you want the setup to be. Pinned being the most rugged. I will say though that I have a machine gun with an unpinned lo-pro gas block that has never given any issues, but it may have melted in with the barrel at this point

I've never had a set screw gas block loosen on my with blue loc tite and proper torque.
Not sure how much good Blue Loctite is on a gas block since the gas block probably exceeds the temperature range of blue Loctite often.

Or "when in use."

I actually measured this before with my IR thermometer that plugs into my phone. Just normal bench shooting the low profile gas block never got above 200F. This was taking aim at the 4" gong through a scope on a M4 profile barrel with a low pro gas block. The gas tube itself got up into the 300F range.
After a more rapid firing session on a M4 profile barrel with pinned A2 FSB which was two 30 round mags going through quick double taps between 3 targets after a couple of mags of slow shooting. Pew Pew... ~1 second to acquire next target, pew pew, repeat. After 60 rounds the gas block was around 270F. The gas tube was around 400F. Barrel around 230F. Handguard was 100-120F depending on where at on the handguard you measured it. Now the A2 dissipates more heat than my Low-Profile gas block as that sight acts as a nice heat sink. With heavy sustained fire it will probably well exceed 300F of blue loctite. This was also in the spring in 90 degree heat you could add 20+ degrees to those numbers.

Man, if BCM can get their KMR uppers in stock and if I can get a V7 Labor Day sale, this would be the best Labor Day sale ever. $165 for a Geiselle, are you kidding
Posted on 9/2/16 at 3:01 pm to RATeamWannabe
Where do you see that for 165
Also what are the differences between the several two stage Geisseles?

Colt was pressured back in the day to come out with a civilian receiver that could not use the auto FCG parts and the large pin receiver was born. So as long as you don't have one of those Colt's from back in the day you want small pin FCG parts.

Primary Arms, I linked it in the Sale thread.
And buy the small pin, it's "mil spec"
Nothing better than Geiselle triggers, the SSA for $171 shipped is freaking stealing

Any particular Geiselle trigger anyone prefers? It seems like the SSA-E gets the most reviews.

Also, is anyone on a mailing list for V7? I'm hoping they have a sale on their LPK components but I haven't seen anything

Just noticed it's a 2 stage. I don't want it.
I have an SSA-E trigger in one of my rifles, excellent upgrade even compared to the rather good NM trigger my other AR has.

Nvm. Just noticed it's a 2 stage. I don't want it.
PSA has the SSA for $169 (I think). (ETA: I always forget that's 2-stage, too, just heavier than the SSA-E. The S3G and SD-3G are their main single stage combat triggers.)
That's likely what I'm getting for Mrs. Midnight.

Good compromise is an AR Gold trigger. 2 stage is great btw, I don't know anyone who doesn't like them.

No mag dumps but after a 2 20 round mads from the bench shooting 1 per 4-5 seconds at a 4" gong and a 30 round emptied around ~1 shot/second.

That's pretty cool looking. That plugs in your phone you said? I think a buddy of mine has something like that.

Ya. Tnarmsco is the way to go for poly builds.

I just visited their website and I didn't see anything about making your own lowers. As far as the mold I mean.
