I was aware it was Timney's design, but from what I understood that was his design to begin with, and he just started Velocity using the same design.
Sounds like the case from Silicon Valley. Hopefully he didn't design it on company time.

Are ALG triggers any good?
They are, they are tuned by Geiselle I believe

It's their sister company. Bill's wife runs it. And yeah, ALG makes great triggers for the money.

I got the bcm enhanced lpk for the trigger...and I needed a lpk. I had read good things about it and some felt it was on par with the alg. I may try the JP spring as well.

Are ALG triggers any good? I only have experience with stock triggers and the Rock River 2 stage.
I have a QMS and it's crisp for being essentially a military trigger.

No reason to put anything other than a GI trigger
I've fired at least 30 military issued rifles in 28 years. Maybe 3 of them had decent triggers.
So, there's that.
(The QMS is better than every one of them, though, so that's an endorsement, I guess.)

I include the ALG triggers under "GI". Maybe I should have said "milspec", but I didn't want anyone to get their panties in a wad.

If I take the ejector loose from the bolt, can that roll pin be reused? If not, do you all know anywhere that may keep the roll pins in stock so I could buy another one today? I was hoping to check the head space on my AR before I go shoot it for the first time tomorrow.

You can reuse it if you don't jack it up.
Posted on 7/30/16 at 10:23 am to Mark Makers
Its not a roll pin. And to answer your question, yes, you can remove it and reuse it at will.

Should I go with a chrome moly barrel or chrome lined?
Posted on 7/30/16 at 2:45 pm to upgrayedd
They're not mutually exclusive; all mine are Chrome Moly 4150 with Chrome-lined Bores & Chambers.

Right. I think the barrels are both made from chrome moly but one is lined, the other isn't. Just curious if there's any real advantage to go with the lined.
Posted on 7/30/16 at 3:02 pm to upgrayedd
Chrome-lined: longer life, easier to clean, more reliable
Non Chrome-lined: slightly more accurate

How much accuracy are you giving up? Is it something an average shooter would notice?
Posted on 7/30/16 at 5:13 pm to upgrayedd
Average shooters won't give up enough accuracy or barrel life to worry about either.
Go with the one you want.

That's what I gathered as well. I'm a avgerage shooter that will shoot an average amount so I didn't think it would be super important one way or another. I looked more at length, weight, and gas system and just not stainless steel.

One last dumb question.
If I order the upper and lower online, is the upper the only part that needs to get shipped to an FFL?
