OB did I go overboard with this optic

Recently got a SRC 308 so I got big dreams of what it could be and want to turn it into a SASS. Am in talks with Krieger to get a better barrel for it and am trying to use this as a holdover til I get a 50 BMG. Anyways got a scope for it but I'm pretty sure it's way too much scope for the rifle, 6-24x50 Vortex Viper PST SFP MRAD. It looks utterly ridiculous on it right now. Should I return the scope and get something more suitable or just use the OP scope til the 50 dream comes to fruition?

That's awesome! Glad someone finally took the advice of the OB and bought way more scope that rifle.

Wouldn't look so mismatched if it didn't have that sunshade on there. I would keep it, if you get rid of it you'll want it later.

Seriously, do you shoot long-range as a hobby? Seems like it would be fun, and challenging.

I'd like to, I can shoot out to 300 in my backyard but I'd like to find somewhere I can frequent to shoot 800-1000

Can only shoot to 300 on a regular basis need to find a place to shoot further, also who doesn't want a 50 regardless of their abilities or land to shoot on?

I bought the same optic for my Savage 10FP-K. It's a great scope. I run mine without the sunshade.
