OB Advice on a Pocket Gun

Guys, I'm in the market for a "new" pocket gun. I have a Glock 43X and a Sig P365XL with custom made pocket holsters. I've been so enamored with # of rounds that I purchased the Shield mags for my Glock and an extended mag for my Sig.
I think I'm overlooking comfort in pocket carrying which at my age is the most convenient way to EDC. I'm willing to go with less capacity for comfort. '
Any thoughts???

I have a Sig P938 that is very comfortable in my pocket or when carried OWB. It's 9mm and has a 7+1 capacity.

I have a Ruger EC9S that's pretty comfy for pocket carry. Fits in a cargo short pocket no problem.

I have a ruger lcp and it carries great but that are hard to shoot with almost no sight radius and a trigger pull that’s super long and about 13pounds it feels like.
I only carry it when it is absolutely almost impossible to get away with carrying my g43x.

Chili - I was in the same boat as you are in now. It never became comfortable to carry my 9mm, unless it was under a jacket during the winter months. But summertime carry was a drag. So, I ended up getting the North American Arms Pug, 22 mag 5 shot. I got a leather pocket holster to carry, and it slips nice and snug in my back pocket. Half the time I forget it's in my pocket and you can wear shorts/pants without a problem.
Just get ready for your friends to make comments about the lack of fire power, but they never volunteer to let me test it out on them.

I pocket carry a Ruger Super Redhawk 44 magnum with a 9 and half inch barrel with compensator. It is uncomfortable.....but man, it draws in the ladies.

A lot of it depends on your clothes. I wear 32" pants and an LCP is as big as I can go unless I'm wearing 5.11 or cargo pants in which case you may as well advertise that you're carrying anyway, and I rarely wear stuff like that outside of work. For normal jeans or khakis; something I'd wear socially, the LCP is about the max size that works. It's a horrid little get-off-me gun but if I can't carry OWB it's better than a sharp stick.

North American Arms mini .22

Might want to look at the Taurus TCP .380. It’s really light and compact. I pocket carry often, all kinds of different pants and shorts. It’s not a range marksman weapon and it’s snappy, but with self defense rounds I assure you that a close range aggressor will not be close range for long. I love mine!

Kahr cm9 or a glock 42.
Buffalo bore sells some really badass .380 rounds.

I have a North American arms guardian .32 that I’ve carried for about 20 years. It’s stainless steel and relatively maintenance free. Easily slips into a pocket. Kinda heavy though. They make the same gun in .380, but last time I looked (2-3 yrs ago) they were out of stock. It’s small size and lack of “snags” makes it very easy to carry in your pocket. Holds 6+1.

For me, "pocket gun" means small 380. There are small 9mm's that can be carried in some pockets (like my Kahr CM9) but small 380's can be carried in all pockets. My first pocket 380 was a Kel-Tec P3AT. Although Kel-Tecs don't get much love at the OB, it was reliable and served me well. Eventually I got tired that it lacked a slide lock. A few Christmas' ago my children gifted me w/ a Kahr CW380. I really like the CW380. It's a lesser frills version of their P380.
Like most 380 pocket guns, the CW380 is incredibly small and light. The trigger is DAO. Although longer than a Glock trigger, it's buttery smooth and reasonably light at 5.5#. For such a small gun, it's quite accurate. And yes, it does have a slide lock feature. It weighs just 10.2 ounces without a magazine. The gun is very amenable to pocket carry as there are minimal controls and they're all low profile. There is not external safety lever, but I feel safe carrying it given it's DAO trigger. The gun came w/ only one 6 round magazine, but a 7 round extended magazine is also available. I carry the CW380 in a leather holster in the right front pocket w/ 6 rounds of Federal Hydra-Shock in magazine. In the left An additional 7 rounds are in the extended magazine in a leather magazine holder. The Ruger LCP is the same size as the Kahr so should also fit in pockets quite well. OTOH, a airtight, snub nose revolver in 38 Special is not a bad choice for a pocket gun. To be honest, I've sometimes pocket carried a revolver like this off and on in the past.
As mentioned earlier, I also pocket carry the Kahr CM9, usually during the summer in cargo pants. Although I have a Kimber Micro 9, I don't like it for pocket carry as it has a lot more to catch on during a draw (external safety lever, beavertail grip and external hammier). I also don't like the Kimber Micro 380 (and others like it) for the same reasons.
