My cousin's husband is from Arkansas and has a place near Stuttgart, he has been extolling the virtues of duck hunting there for years and telling me I need to come out there with him. So I finally decide to take him up on the offer and he says the ducks skipped them this year. Is he BS'ing me?

and you answer a lot of them.

Told you already I'm a novice, just trying to get info from people who've been at it a while. Are my threads inconveniencing you?

Three points here:

1) this duck season has been horrible

2) Stuttgart is the most overrated duck hunting destination in America

3) Your cousin's husband doesn't like you

Yes it is a dumpster fire this year.

My farm is near Stuttgart also. I am going up there on the weekend of the 16th but will more than likely attempt to target geese due to the absence of ducks.

So true. Stuttgart is not the magical land of unicorns and greenheads it once was.

The new Stuttgarts are Oklahoma and Kansas.

I shot ducks in Arkansas this past weekend on public land, didn't shoot huge amounts of limits but saw a lot of birds. sounds like they are doing it wrong. even with the water high they been smashing them where we hunted.

as far as Kansas goes, yes they smash them there too. I want to field hunt some there next year.

This.

This x100.

Want to know why the Lump hasn't been good for tuna in 10 years? Because the tuna that used to feed there are dead. It got too popular.

In the past 30 years, ducks that migrate deep, and early, got killed. Ducks that stayed out north and west survived and lead their young that way.

That guy who posts all the green in the duck contest thread isn't having too much problem finding a few.

Mach is doing very well in his parts. My farm is just not hot. I might ease into the river and see if I can drum a few up.

Get out of the rice fields and into the timber. They're definitely there.

Just got back from close to Stuttgart. Hunted both private and public land. Ducks are there, maybe not as many as years past. Water seemed to be the biggest issue, everything is flooded.
