Just some advice. If you hunt in the CWD No Baiting area, I’m not sure you want to press your luck. It feels like every enforcement officer in the state is in this area and they’re writing tickets left and right.

If they can’t catch the offender, they’re writing the landowner a ticket.

And if they think there’s a chance you’ll kill deer, they’re waiting until after you do so instead of writing the ticket as soon as you climb in your stand.

I’m afraid LDWF has figured out this CWD area is big money for them.

On a personal note, it sure has made trying to put deer in front of kids tough with the acorns now raining.

I hunted Tensas until 2010 and never bought a kernel of corn. I consistently harvested 140" deer (most every year) with my largest being 159-6/8. If the State of La banned all feeding this year I would be ecstatic. Until 2012 I had never installed a feeder, I think it should be banned state wide.

Baiting deer and using mojos for ducks should be illegal

Just to be clear, I haven’t spent a dime on bait in years for my personal benefit. However I do use it when I take kids or disabled hunters.

Jackass.

I have a feeling they'll be camped out on 65 every Sunday checking trucks for carcasses and tags.

Illegal to bait on public land.

There’s a baiting ban for a new CWD zone in NE La. What we’re hearing is game wardens are coming down hard on enforcing this new ban.
No problem. But what else will be done to stop CWD? The only plan so far is to slow the spread. That’s just putting off the inevitable. All deer use scrapes. It will spread.

Yup, everyone says they don’t bait, but just sit at the co-op on Friday afternoon and watch em sell corn by the truck load, guess people must be making grits???

I really don’t give a dam, do what you want, I have rarely seen a buck eat corn in daylight hours, sure does do, and I have seen bucks checking on said does , but is there a difference between planting food plots and putting out corn? Sure it is better nutrition and stays around longer but if we passed a law of not hunting over food plots would you still plant em????

Not sure. Maybe they’re flying it. But I heard they have a small army of wardens and are writing tickets.

They have to be using drones to look for feeders. Also assuming they're going through everyone's camp yards and dumpster looking for bags of feed. We still have some empty feeders in the woods from last year. Probly need to get those out too.

Should be kind of hard giving out tickets to people putting out luvestock feed. Put some horses or cows on the place. Drop in a feed trough or two and feed the sweet feed and all grain. Place stands away from the feed troughs and hunt. Be hard to convince the local judge that you are baiting deer. Readsnable doubt for sure.

I don't know about LA but in GA, the DNR doesn't need warrants to come on your land or into any buildings.

Don't think LDWF needs warrants in LA (?). We do have green jeans on cameras in the camp yard and in the woods. We told our members to only use liquid attractants, sling it all over the place and not in one spot, and throw the jugs in the dumpster behind the gas station
