Personally I wouldn't pay it but plenty people do.....for the caviar
Yeah the first time I was at a sushi place and saw choupique sushi on the menu I did a double take....
It was yellow tail w choupique caviar on top...but the hipster with us thought it was choupique not yellow tail...
But the demand for the caviar was high enough that ldwf had to start regulating it
He tried home made version and nearly died

I remember when they market for choupic caviar opened up and they were getting 13/lb. Side of the road just north of basin public landing they got some pits and the coon asses had them stacked in a pile 4' high. Stench was unbearable.

in fact a a famous chef's brother got charged with illegally taking choupique last year.
