Permits are only required if camera stations will have bait poured, piled, or placed onto the ground. Click here for a copy of Public Notice W-3796a.
As someone else stated, the reg is for feed on the ground, not the camera. The whole feed regulation here is just stupid anyway.
A GW here told me he had a feeder 110 yards from his stand behind a bulldozed pile. This is "legal" cause you can't see the feeder. It's still baiting.
The whole thing is stupid!

This does not apply to you unless you are putting out certain type of feed. I run about ten cameras and don't have permits nor do I need any

The whole "no pouring out piles of corn to feed wildlife" comes from an aflatoxin scare a few years back. Which many people think was bogus anyway. Farmers made a bumper crop of corn and then the grain elevators hit them with a deduction for aflatoxin. So that's why the law is there for piling up grain for feeding wildlife. The idea is that the grain will get wet and that will promote the growth of aflatoxin which could be detrimental to wildlife.

I called MDWFP and apparently these permits are required for photographers and are NOT required on private lands or deer camps with or without feeders. However the law is still open to interpretation and I encourage everyone to interpret accordingly. If you want to call MDWFP and ask them your self the number is 601-432-2400. Sorry for the confusion...carry on.

Clarification...the permits are required if the bait is on the ground, not a feeder.

This was an interesting thread. Don't understand the law. I could see someone not knowing and meaning no harm getting screwed by it.
