I already have a canoe and use it all the time but I've been looking at entry level kayaks lately. Considering the one you have and the Ascend FS12T.

I think I'm leaning towards the Ascend because of the open front. I don't think I'd use the front storage much in the Pescador.

Great boat

The seat looks terrible. I know my fatass couldn't fit in there for an extended period of time

Our fat friend brings up a good point about that seat. Not sure what they did, but it doesnt look comfortable.

There is a guy around here that just got the Pescador and has an Ascend seat in it, looks much more comfortable.

$85.00 but probably worth it

The Ascend seat is awesome. Only complaint I have, is that the Velcro that holds in the back support is shitty so it's always popping out.

I've got one of the new ascends and I'm a big fan of the open front. The new hull design is pretty stable and the new seat is awesome. It tracks like shite but I kinda expected it when I bought it

God damn 4 straps

Last time I carried one in my bed, I used a fish stringer(only) tied to the very back handle.

The seat really isn't too bad. It's definitely a different style than the ascend, but it has plenty of padding for me and the adjustable back rest is nice. I can see how it would be a problem for some people though

Way overkill. Thats more than a typical bass boat has holding it on the trailer.

You may not be able to tell, but about 4.5-5 feet of the kayak is hanging out of the bed. I wouldn't feel comfortable with anything less.

ETA: the ratchet straps came in a 4-pack for $10. I'll take an extra 30 seconds putting on a ratchet strap to ensure that I still have a yak in the back when I get to the water

I use 2 but have different catch points on my kayak. Just giving you shite

I will admit I look in my rearview every 5 seconds just to make sure I still see the orange flagging still blowing around so I know its back there

Im already nervous about the drive to Delacroix, 5 1/2 hrs from here.

If I drive a truck I will be fine, If I drive my Tahoe I will be shitting bricks with it sitting on the factory rack.

I did 2.5 hrs with mine sitting on top of the 16' boat at a weird angle around the console with 2 ratchet straps holding it to the trailer. Put one through the handle. No problems.

I use 2 in my truck bed. One to hold it down and one to hold it against the cab and against one side. Same I did with the pirogue. Never moves.

Actually the pirogue I use just one and threw some weight in it most of the time.
