Got 3 cans and 2 SBRs in last week. I'm sure lots more to come before July. Silencer shop has fewer and fewer cans in stock.

What's the point of a silencer?

Not really into them myself.
So the pew is not as loud, it costs a good penny, and is heavy on end of a pistol/rifle.

Hearing protection, noise suppression for hunting, and silent assassin style activities. And let's not forget turning heads at the range.

Been killing deer with out suppressors
Head muffs
hey look at me

But if it it was cheap, and didnt require the law knowing I had one, sure I would buy one. Kinda like buying the latest accessory for a 4wd truck

I do think they will run their course soon. Kinda like lasers in the years past.

If I already have a trust, do my trustees and myself get grandfathered in?

What Cro said. There is no grandfather clause. Everything changes in July for everyone. Regardless of when you got your trust.

The best route is to get whatever you want to get before July. I said this in the last thread, but even after July, a trust is still the best way to go about getting any Class III item.

Step 1: amend trust and take everyone off
Step 2: file for all the stamps you want
Step 3: amend trust and add trustees back on
Step 4: profit

Is it possible to basically have myself as the only trustee, buy everything I want and then add others after the fact?

Papercut, are you an attorney that post trust services on a lot of local Facebook pages?

There's still a lot of unknowns.

This is the bottom line to me. A lot of advice re: 41F is going to have to wait until we see how the ATF handles the new regulations.

The primary question I'm getting from clients right now is whether or not they're going to have to submit all of the background info (fingerprint, photo, notice to CLEO) every time they purchase a Class III item. While the black and white answer is no, the 2 year time period and written into the rule, and the potential for the ATF to interpret that really unfavorably for us, suggests that it would be easier to do so.

I keep seeing the growing movement for suppressors to be removed from the NFA list and I cant help but believe it wont be too far in the future when it wont need a tax stamp. I'm hoping it hurries up though

If anyone is looking for a proven NFA trust that has been accepted by BATF, I have one that I'll complete for you for $150.
