I have been seeing my neighbors dogs on my food plots several days a week on my game camera's. They are black labs and he just lets them run loose. Every time I pull into my place they run across the road and bark and growl at me and my kids. Last night I pulled my HK out and blasted a couple of rounds their way I got so pissed. I need to talk to the guy. How would the OB handle this situation?

Well not with my HK and certainly not by shooting at his dogs. That's a damn good way to receive return fire.

Talk to neighbor. Tell him the issue. Report the dogs to the proper authorities/ file complaint. At least have some record of attempting to resolve the issue.
If all else fails, do what you gotta do, but do it humanely- not with poison or anything that can lead back to you, and don't make the dog suffer for having a shitty owner.

I shoot unwanted dogs in the behind with a pellet gun. It's not lethal but penetrates the skin and hurts like hell. They won't come back.

This is the problem, if you talk with him and he does nothing, then something happened to the dogs, either via you or just an accident, you will get blamed. If you are hunting near the house I assume you are rural, no animal control correct? If you talk with him will he be receptive or do nothing. If he will do nothing, there is no use in talking with him.

Knock knock. Hey buddy, how you been? Look I need you to help me with a problem. I got my place set up for deer season and everytime I put my trail camera out all I get are pictures of your dogs. But what is bothering me is these dogs are now coming across the road and growling at me and the kids in my yard when we get out of the car. I worried for my kids safety. How are you going to help me keep your dogs on your side of the road? If he is a dick just say good luck and leave and then shoot the freaking next time it runs by. Sherif ain't gonna do dick. You would be better off calling animal control,,, if there is one out there.

First off , dogs cannot read posted signs. Talk to said neighbor, maybe bring him pictures of his dogs in your plots. Its all on him. Shooting his dogs may result in way worse retaliation. Sit down with him and hope he can understand where your coming from. If this doesnt work then frick his wife right in the pussy

Questions:

1. Which way were you shooting? Across the road toward your neighbor's place? Down the road? Where were you aiming? Where your kids with you when you were randomly popping off rounds? That's so dangerous.

2. Why does the model of the pistol matter?

3. If you have already shot at the dogs, why do you think your neighbor will rationally discuss the issue with you?

The dogs were on my place when I shot at them and I shot in a safe direction into the woods. Its not like i shot at them while they were in the owners yard. My kids weren't with me when this occured.

Sounds like you know the best plan is to talk to the guy, is there some reason you're thinking that won't work?

From you having to ask this question, I suspect that talking with the neighbor wont do any good.

If I spoke with him about the issue and he did nothing to rectify the situation I would get rid of the dogs. Either shoot, bury and shut up, or take them to a pound three counties over.

Shoot them with an beebee gun. Pump that bitch 6-7 times & pop one in the arse. They'll learn quick.

That's what my granddaddy used to do. He'd wait till they were about to shite in his yard and then pop them in the arse as soon as they started. He said sometimes a 2 foot long turd would come flying out

I had a very good friend deal with this issue , and it didn't end nicely .
Cops, court, lawsuit, land disputes and survey. A total disaster. Still ongoing after 2 years.

You're in a tight spot. And some a-hole neighbor is not going to be reasonable, I can assure you of that.

I'll tell u this, if u shoot to kill, make sure the job is done.

U can also use xylitol, the artificial sweetener. Very lethal

If you talk to him and he is not receptive to your pleas, don't do anything to the dogs. Last thing you want is to piss of the locals. There is no end to what they can do to ruin your property while you're not there. I would either take care of it on your own or talk to him about it, knowing you can't take them out yourself if things don't go the way you want.
