is calling animal control or a WLF agent an option in your Parish ???

call and report the dogs are harassing you, your kids, and the wildlife

next time you pull into the driveway, get video evidence on your iphone to support your claim. I would video multiple episodes that you are fearful of the dogs who are aggressive towards your family.

I wouldn't shoot the dogs until last resort

the dogs aren't the problem, it's the azzhole neighbor

#8 from a .20 or rat shot from a .22. That should do it.

I've heard from a reliable source that donuts coated in sweet n low will do the trick.

I am going hunting again Thursday. I am going to have the talk with him then. I will report back my findings. If I don't report back someone send out a scout team to southern Amite CO MS. Thanks for all of the replies

Patience may reveal the true cause of your problem, only one reason why lazy biscuit eating labs are on your property is to follow the master...
Relocating a few cameras might catch the master, then you have all you need to give to LE to do your dirty work and avoid long term run ins with trespasser

Dude I'm all for getting rid of the dogs as a last resort, but antifreeze or any other poison is a undeserved horrible death the canines don't warrant. Shoot the frickimg things but don't poison them. Ive got first hand experience watching dogs die from poison and its a truly awful thing to witness. Be a frickin man and shoot them or haul them off to the pound.

Orrrrrrrrr maybe the guy doesn't know his dogs are wandering around and would promptly fix the problem if he knew about it.

The hate for dogs around here is unbelievable. All of you would absolutely loose your mind if somebody shot your duck dog for passing through a food plot.

You'd better talk to the owner first. Shooting someone's dog(s) without even letting them know you have a problem with them first would be a shite move.

Sweet n low has saccharin in it, not xylitol.

I thnk it's pretty sick for anyone to suggest that he poison the dogs with xylitol or ethylene glycol (antifreeze). Both would result in a pretty terrible death and anyone doing this deserves anything/everything coming to them from the neighbor or the law. I've seen too many dogs die from accidental or intentional poisoning like these and it's something I'd never wish on my worst enemy.

Also keep in mind that vets can specifically test for ethylene glycol toxicity so it will be obvious if you poison them with it.

If you have to kill an animal at least do it the favor of a quick kill with your gun. It's not the animal's fault so don't make it suffer.

I plan to do that Thursday when I go up to hunt. I grew up in the country and had two dogs killed by dear hunters as a kid. I am not about to blast some guys dogs without talking to him first but he is going to have to take care of the problem. I just hope the guy listens to reason.

Sss

I thought antifreeze no longer has the chemical that kills critters in it

The deer won't be really detered by a couple labs but they could bust a hunt.

A daisy bb gun will not hurt a dog and stings like a bitch.

I'm not saying u should whack the dogs, but willing to bet the owner won't be receptive. Seen it plenty times. Coming on my lease and then growling at my family are two different things

Doesn't sound right for labs growling though

I believe there is a law about roaming animals, as my friend later found out.

The toxic agent in antifreeze is ethylene glycol, and it takes as little as 1 tablespoon to cause acute kidney failure in dogs. About 5 tablespoons can kill a medium sized dog, and just 1 teaspoon can be fatal to a cat.Nov 23, 2014

Nope it's still in there!

They added a taste additive to antifreeze so it wouldn't taste sweet. Esp in response to poisonings by wives back in the day !
A vet told me xylitol was stronger.

be a good neighbor....go over and tell him about the "coyote problem" that you are having around your food plots and make it clear that you will be solving the problem with a half-dozen or so old school longspring foot traps...

I'm so thankful I've never had this problem. I can shoot yotes all day but I could never bring myself to shoot another man's dog, no matter how much of a douche he is. It's not the dogs fault.

FWIW - If anybody shot my dog, I would respond with a 12g to the dick.... and then the face.... I love my dog more than anything. But, with that being said I would contain my dog in the first place and be a good neighbor and keep him off other's property...
