Same here. I just need to decide between black 3 or silver 3+. I don't see the black 3 for $249 anywhere and don't see it at all on go pro site.

BTW, Target is offering a $50 gift card with purchase of Hero 3+ Silver and Cabelas is offering $75 In Cabelas bucks.

If you're dead set on a GoPro, this one.
Sony makes a good action cam that competes with the GoPro. It's built more like the Contour.

I've owned every gopro model and I use to sell them. I would buy two GoPro 2's.
The battery life on the gopro 3 is horrendous. I could get 2 hours of video on my gopro 2 but my 3 would be dead in 20-30 minutes.
While the increased specs my seem nice, it is almost impossible to see any difference in quality once you do the editing. As the previous posters said, you're putting your movies on YouTube with a max frame rate of 25 and 720p. All the gopro 3 does is give you better raw video that needs way more expensive memory cards and kills your battery.
However, the wifi and remote thing is neat. But it also kills the battery.
