My vehicle is set up to run 93 octane but I will be driving it out to AZ for an extended stay and the highest octane they have there is 91. So my question is should I simply put an octane booster every time I fill up or should I buy a programmer and set it up for 91 octane?

don't worry about it and don't drive it aggressively. The computer will retard the timing if it senses any detonation

So I have to drive it aggressively all the time for the ECU to compensate?

Nevermind, you said DON'T

That's going to be hard with a Camaro 2SS

chevys have excellent knock sensors.

So what exactly happens when it senses a knock? I'm not familiar with all this (obviously).

Less power.

After a week or so at 10k feet you could run 85 octane.

The majority of the country doesn't have 93 anyways.

Just run it like it is.
Avoid high revs when its ( the engine) cold.

The computer changes the fuel mixture/ timing to a richer mixture.

Doing this for too long will ruin the cats.

So as long as I floor it only when the engine is warmed up, I should be ok?

I thought it just retarded timing...?

Nope it constantly adjusts air fuel mixture for optimal ratio

Your ECU will give zero fricks going from 93 to 91 octane fuel. GM tuned that thing pretty conservatively and the ECU will make whatever small changes are needed accordingly.
