Got ya. I'm in Copiah County. One of my best friends has a place off 27 near the Natchez Trace in Utica. Fine hunting.

Advice... do not wait until you hear about it going full bore. As soon as you start to hear reports of bucks trailing does you best get your butt in the woods because it WILL be busting loose quick and has already started.

I prefer to hear that it looks like it is about to happen as apposed to it is on. Once you hear it is on, you will have missed half of it by the time you hit the woods.

Big boys starting to hit the ground up here around West Point. I've not seen any big ones chasing yet, only small bucks, but it's definitely firing up.

Bump for new info. Omegaman might be right.

I killed a 7 pt this morning west of brookhaven that stunk like a cow pasture and his hocks were dark and wet. His neck was swollen.

This is also the first time this year Ive seen this deer. He was out cruising.

Madison County Report:
Still not a whole hell of a lot going on in my part of Madison County. Few scrapes here and there but that's it. Saw 9 deer this evening and not the first set of horns.

Attalla County Report:
Gained access to some virgin pine land. Made two hunts and saw one doe barreling through the woods on the first hunt and heard two separate bucks grunting in the second hunt. Second buck was making the trending grunt. Never saw either. Here is the sign I'm hunting. I set out a camera this morning so I can't wait to see the culprits in the morning.

I've only explored a small percentage of this property. All these signs are along a hundred yard stretch of logging road.

Same for me in Madison County Cro. We hunt close to each other. I've seen scrapes but still not much movement. Hoping something happens soon. Will be in woods all day tomorrow and Monday. I may skip Sunday.

Cro - wish someone would give me access. I love hunting new unhunted land.

Report from SW MS. 3 or 4 bucks killed since last Friday. Nothing too big. one caped for mounting, Id guess in the 125 range. 2 guys said the ones they killed were chasing. the others feeding.

I had a bunch of does around me last evening. I saw a racked buck make a turn around a root ball on top of the ridge, didn't see him but for a second. waited.....grunted......nothing. shot one of the does because they were ugly. ;)

This morning I was in the swamp. Had a couple of does in neighborhood. Caught a glimpse of a large deer running through a drain. not sure of sex. nothing following it..........some more ugly does.

gonna try them a little bit before work in the morning. Then back at it this weekend. I will be taking Monday and Tuesday off if it chasing starts heating up.

oh yeah. Mallards seen this morning.

What y'all seeing?

hookings and a few scrapes in Ft. Adams. 2 bucks killed Monday. Tuesday morning I saw a buck about 4 seconds behind a doe. both walking at a steady pace. It is still a little early.

I'm a few miles from Ft. Adams. Did not see and deer chasing. Besides the buck I posted earlier that I put my buddy on, that was the only big buck we saw. Bunch of small bucks were present and does were really calm.
