Where is the best place to get metal roofing around Gonzales, BR, or NO? Looking for the classic rib in galvalum. Needing the trim pieces and all.

Reed's Metals is based in MS but I think they have a store in BR. Always been good to deal with for me.

Walker metal roofing

R-Panel about .75 sf. They have coil stock and roll whatever you need.

What is the application? How much square footage do you have? How many windows/ doors to trim out? linear footage of eave/ to trim? 4" gutters ample or do you need 8"? Number of down spouts? Splash blocks for down spouts or drain to concrete on grade? Eave height?

If you're looking for someone to furnish and install, I'd call V&V Roofing in your area.

For your home? If so be very careful installing a metal roof. It isn't as "lifetime" as many people think...

Care to share more? Rusting a problem? screw gaskets fail?

Would be interested in hearing your experiences.

After about 7-10 years the gaskets are deteriorated and need to be replaced because they are starting to leak, that is pretty expensive on an entire roof. When they are replaced, they need to go up a size on the screw. The new screws are good for another 7-10 years or so, then, they are starting to leak again. The problem is, you can't go up in screw size again. At this point you need a new roof. 14-20 years on a roof more expensive than a 3 tab shingle.

Think long and hard about this option...

Or install a standing seam metal, where there are clips underneath. There would be very few, if any, screws.

True, a standing seam is considered a lifetime roof but it is much more expensive than a common panel roof.

Majestic sells R-panel profile galvalume roof panels for I think in the neighborhood of $1.60/Lf which is a full 36" wide of coverage if memory serves me correctly.

It's for a shed I'm building at the house. Looking at getting 20 5' panels for the roof, and the trim for the outer edges. And the ridge cap. 14'x12' barn style shed. I have access to a bunch is screws so that won't be an issue.

There is a place in Holding that throws sales at $1.00 a running foot. Check craigslist for there sales.

I had install some on the camp I'm building. I did pick up some of that roofing paint that helps seal it up and helps keep the roof cool.

LINK

Bought 8 five gallon buckets of this off craigslist for $250. Way more then what I need.

On R panel roof systems that have fastener problems after several years, there are options. We install quite a bit of elastomeric coatings over existing metal roofs, and can get a 15 or 20 year warranty. Mule Hide and GAF Topcoat. Sort of like a bed liner coating.

order from Pats Home center in Central. Their prices blew away everyone. Including Walker metals. Walker metals were dicks too.

Reed's metal has an office in Holden. I recently purchased from there, easy to work with. Call them, place you order, and the main warehouse (in Ms) will cut and send to Holden for pick-up.
