Merry Christmas and Ford or GM?

I know this has only been discussed a few hundred times, but this time it's me making the decision. So today, it matters.
For beneficial tax reasons, I'm considering ridding myself of my '07 Chev 2500 with Duramax. 130,000 with no issues.
I'm used to driving a diesel, so leaning toward 2500 or F250, but am going to drive the half ton version of both. It's mostly in town light driving and pulling a boat to Cocodrie about once a month.
I was thinking the F250's would be a little more creature comfortable, but after looking at the 2500 yesterday, I'm thinking not.
Pricing seems pretty close.
Said truck has to be over 6000 GVWR, which I know the Sierra is in 1500 or 2500, and the F250. Need to check the F150, but I bet it is also.
Thoughts?

it is more prestigious to own a ford now a days. get a ford.

What door option? I am leaning GM due to the regular door on the Ex Cab vs. the rear opening on the Ford. I need the longer bed that the Ex cab provides over the crew.

New GMC 2500 Duramax looks like a mighty fine truck from exterior standpernt. Couple people in my neighborhood have one and every time they pass I need to run inside because I immediate break out in wood.

I'm considering the crew cab.
Just curious, what's the need for the extra room in the bed? (making sure I'm not overlooking a need)

I kinda thought that too, but after looking at the GMC, I'm not so sure.

I bought a new 1500 Sierra a month ago and I love it. That is all I have to offer.

To be fair, if he had said prestigious GMC I would have laughed as well.
And my truck was purchased before GM became Government Motors.

Everyone here will recommend the truck they own. You wont find many unbiased opinions. The best thing to do is to find out what features are most important to you and test drive both.
I own a '15 Silverado and love it FWIW

this
I came from a 2012 lariat that I loved with all the features and the 5.0, but my 2014 Silverado gets wayyyy better mpg, seats are more comfortable, just not as much room and the 150 had a smoother ride. both are great trucks, I personally would go with the one that you can get a better deal on.
