Had an awesome duck hunt yesterday that ended with 33 birds. But my shoulder/arm is paying for it today.

This. Go to a good gunsmith and get it fitted. Still, 10 ga is way over rated when you have 31/2" 12 ga shells.

damn, you might want to consider putting the butt a little higher in the pocket of the shoulder.

I quit shooting a 10 gauge long ago for the same reason...well, that and the cost of the shells...

I get a little excited when the birds are coming in and just throw it up and shoot

I agree. But I don't have a 12 that shoots 3 1/2. Plus someone gave my dad a case of 10 gauge #6 hevishot that he gave me. So I feel obligated to shoot the free expensive shells.

I can't think of one good reason to shoot a 10 gauge at ducks

While I like the 10 a lot for geese I am just not convinced it's needed for ducks. I kill 80% of my birds with 2 3/4" 3's. I stick to healthy shoulders!

I have a 92 year neighbor who killed a turkey last year with a 10Ga.
