Maybe I should give up the 10 gauge

Had an awesome duck hunt yesterday that ended with 33 birds. But my shoulder/arm is paying for it today.

or get one that fits, thats far down the shoulder for a bruise

This. Go to a good gunsmith and get it fitted. Still, 10 ga is way over rated when you have 31/2" 12 ga shells.

damn, you might want to consider putting the butt a little higher in the pocket of the shoulder.

I quit shooting a 10 gauge long ago for the same reason...well, that and the cost of the shells...

I get a little excited when the birds are coming in and just throw it up and shoot

I imagine your pocket book took a beating as well...those shells are not cheap...

I agree. But I don't have a 12 that shoots 3 1/2. Plus someone gave my dad a case of 10 gauge #6 hevishot that he gave me. So I feel obligated to shoot the free expensive shells.

gotta work on getting it up clean bro-ski. that good form will give you a nice stable platform for follow up shots.. I just had to teach one of my Marines this lesson today lol

I don't know about ya'll but taking a picture of my muthfrickin arm is not what is going through my mind while driving my truck down the highway. jesus christ, keep you're eyes on the road.

From that picture, no kidding.

I can't think of one good reason to shoot a 10 gauge at ducks

While I like the 10 a lot for geese I am just not convinced it's needed for ducks. I kill 80% of my birds with 2 3/4" 3's. I stick to healthy shoulders!

I have a 92 year neighbor who killed a turkey last year with a 10Ga.
