So I have heard mix things about the new Costa policy and that MJ had a better one. Then on the recent thread someone said MJ has horrible customer service and returns.

I am about to head to the store and need to know if I should exchange the MJs I bought the other day.

Maui Jim has good service. Costa is now owned by Luxottica, who has the worst customer service on earth. There is a reason their reps are all quitting.

I had a 100% good experience with Costa.

My last experience with Maui Jim was bad enough for me to put them in time out.

I've never had a bad experience with Costa but I haven't had warranty work for a couple years so not sure how it is now.

Several years ago, my son stepped on pair of my Maui Jims that had fallen on floor of the car. It broke the hinge.

I called and sent them in. They repaired them for free and even sent them back in a new case. I didn’t have any warranty or proof of purchase to provide them.

I've had good experiences with both but Costa was before the buyout.

I ordered a pair of sunglasses from Costa directly last year. I sent them back for a return. I provided them with a tracking number. I waited on hold for over 2 hours on the phone without them ever picking up. I sent them an e-mail inquiring about my status return and refund. Multiple times.

I ended up disputing the charge with my credit card company. My credit card company informed me that they never responded back to their inquiries.

Every pair of Maui Jim's I tried on just didn't fit my face. I handled costa's next to Hobies, costa is not worth the premium over the hobie glasses. I have been with my TDOB recommended Hobies

I received a pair of costas from a guy that is sponsored by them. Meaning i do not have a receipt.

At a drunken party two weeks ago, the nose piece snapped. Filled out the information online, without a receipt, and just received a brand new pair in the mail yesterday.

Wife has MJ and loves them. FTR you can purchase new lenses and rubber pieces for the nose piece on amazon. Not sure if this helps or not.

Haven’t worn costas in a few years, but I remember their customer service being good.

I’m an MJ customer for life. Had a pair of glasses for about 5 years that I broke recently. That style has been discontinued, in lieu of repair they offered a 50% discount towards another pair, however, when I went to purchase that new pair the gift code they gave me covered the glasses at 100%. I’ve sent in numerous pairs over the years to be repaired, always a good experience. They have better glass and style IMO as well.

As I reported in the other thread just returned an old pair of costas that had cracked lens and all rubber peeled off. No receipt and all the numbers on the arms etc was gone. They sent a new pair free. Cracked lens likely wouldn’t have gotten the new pair by itself as most folks have said they have had to pay for that but the rubber being gone got the new pair. I have gotten a new pair free every time I have sent in a pair but it’s always been for real warranty stuff with the rubber gone or the lens peeling or whatever but I’ve had nothing but good experience with costa

I filed a claim for my "good" pair of Costas a few weeks ago. All online, submitted a few photos of the rubber parts on the frame peeling off. They warrantied the work and shipped a new pair. Since that pair shipped I went ahead and filed a claim on my old pair, also due to the rubber coming off the frame. I received the replacement pair yesterday and the lenses don't fit in the frames and rattle around. Now I'll have to send them back too and wait for a second replacement pair.

Well this is some bullshite. I sent a pair in for the exact same thing back in 2019 and they wanted me to pay $150.00 just for the lens repair.

I have Maui Jims and have had Costa in the past. My Maui Jims have never broken. Costas constantly broke and was a pain in the arse to have repaired. I have a pair of Marucci I bought 2 years ago. The arms peeled a little on the ends last week. Emailed Marucci and had a new pair at my door in 2 days.

I have returned Costas for work close to 5-6x over the years and have never had an issue. I literally sent them a box of pieces one time for a pair I demolished and they replaced it for free. Always been satisfied by their customer service.

I will stick with them until that changes.

Never used the warranty on my Costas but have used Maui Jim on several occasions and have been extremly pleased with how quick and reasonable they were to deal with

Before this I've never had a bad experience with Costa returns, and to their credit they jumped right on making it right

My biggest issue with Costa at this point is

Frankly I'm getting tired of the rubber pieces falling off the frames.

Neither. Get you some Goodr glasses and never look back. This ain't 1998. Glasses are glasses now. You're just paying extra for the name.
