Yall remember the thread about the Walther PPX and all that back and forth stuff in the thread. Well, today Mama BFIV and I went up to Bass Pro and she looked at and handled 15 or 20 different handguns to see which one she liked and which one felt the most comfortable in her hand. I stood back and just let her and the sales guy pull out every wheel gun and semi-auto that she seemed to be interested in. I grit my teeth and bit my tongue to keep quiet, and this is the one she picked out. She absolutely loved it! What say ye, on the OB? Anyone have any experience with this handgun? LINK

9mm is my minimum unless a .22 with mag capabilities.
Be happy she pulled the trigger(pun), remind her it was her choice if she changes her mind.

I know it is done, now, but she selected a platform that is notoriously finicky in a caliber that is both limited in choice and known to have feed issues in popular guns chambered in it.

SO, you've got some uphill work to do - find "enough" .380 from various manufacturers and get sufficient rounds through it to make sure it will feed when she absolutely needs it to - OR if the weapon itself requires adjustment.

And good luck with all of that.

Appreciate the advice and info. If her Browning won't work like it's supposed to, then she'll trade it for something else. I liked the Shield, but she didn't like the way it felt in her hand.

They have any HKs there? They let her change the inserts?

Why are you set on getting her something super small? I would think as long as the grip is thin enough that a full sized handgun would make more sense.

I still bet that Browning will be a fun gun to shoot even though it's not a great defensive gun. Congrats for your lady.

I ain't. This was her choice and hers alone. She liked the way it felt in her hand and she felt very comfortable with it. ETA: Plus, it was a lot easier for her to CC.

Good on you for letting her pick. Just making sure no one was pushing her towards the smaller guns without her being aware of how they handle...

I didn't realize the gun would be for concealed carry. If she hasn't trained on a full sized gun that would be a good place to start. But I think if she already knows the basics and can handle the recoil impulse a subcompact will be just fine.

My wife has a PK 380 and she is deadly with it - finding ammo really isn't an issue
