These are easily double if not triple that size. There prob closer to 1000yr old.

There are a couple back in Old Miss hunting club that I used to park a 13' pirogue next to that the base of the trees was wider then the boat.

There is at least a 13' diameter cypress close to the Lafayette airport. Its more of a buttress thing, though, like most.

Interesting stuff about that Seven Sisters Oak in Mandeville. Makes you wonder if there isn't a bigger one out there somewhere on someone's property that they either haven't found or just know is pretty big.

Good lord, talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Did the landowner feel good about destroying what must have been a massive oak tree just to show the "gub'mint" he could do whatever he wanted with his own property? He really showed them...
