I was looking at concealed carry classes recently and I found a place that does the class online and then lets you go there and complete the shooting portion of the test. Has anyone ever done this and is it legit?

I never knew you could take the concealed carry class online. I've never taken the class b/c it's hard finding an entire day I can devote to going to the class, but if I can do the class online at my own pace and then just go somewhere to do my shooting, that would be much more convenient. But I wanted to make sure this was legit before I sign up to do it and find out I can't use it to get my CCP in Louisiana.

I did my CCP class totally online through Bearco. After I finished the online portion I contacted FRC Shooting Range on Choctaw in Baton Rouge and set up the shooting portion. They had no problems with it. Also, Bearco was very helpful with any questions I had. We communicated via FB Messenger whenever I had a question.

Thanks for the replies. Bearco is who I was looking at, but wanted to confirm it was a legit set up.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted by supposed republicans on here. We have the right, given to us by God, to keep and bear arms. Any law against such is unjust and unconstitutional.

Because there are a lot of guys who don't want to give up their profits running the classes...

There’s a lot of money to be made by not having constitutional carry laws in Louisiana. That’s just how our state is.

My theory is I don’t need a CCP. You will never know I am carrying until it is absolutely needed. At that point, who cares if I have a CCP or not?

I have an in law that is a sheriff he would rather you illegally conceal than open carry. Not sure if they all feel that way.

Absolutely my thoughts as well. I carry when I feel the urge. No CCP. If I need it oh well. Deal with the consequences later

Make sure State Police will accept this (that the class covers all the required material). I really doubt that it does - especially the legal stuff..

Just because an instructor accepts it doesn't mean it meets all the requirements that the legislature set forth or you'll be OK in court if you ever have to shoot someone.
