Pursuant to recent threads regarding bills that would alter Louisiana's CCW requirements, it appears that no one has yet mentioned HB315 (or if they did, I missed it).

This bill would provide for enhanced concealed carry permits. The sponsor/author is the same legislator who filed a bill for "constitutional carry."

As I read the current text of the bill (I'm sure it will be amended):

The cost is proposed to be $50/year.

Other requirements are (a) you must have a valid CCW permit, (b) you must take a training course that is "equivalent to training approved by P.O.S.T", and (c) you must "qualify annually in the use of firearms."

The benefit:
An enhanced permit would allow you to carry concealed anywhere a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) or a judge can carry in this state, including churches.

I already carry in church with the churchs blessing. Now banks, parades, etc would be a nice addition.

Do you go through 8 hours of tactical training every year?

Unless they specifically disallow, should be able to already?

Does the Mississippi enhanced permit allow you to carry everywhere a LEO can carry?

should his constitutional rights be infringed requiring him to do so?

That should put a muzzle on the yapping of gun-controllers over the constitutional carry bill.

It should, but it won't.

I knew it wouldn't be long before somebody would start the criticism.

There are already restrictions on gun carry - on airplanes, trains and busess, And there are restrictions on fully automatic weapons, RPG's, claymore mines, 81mm mortars. etc.

All of this is infringement. Get used to it, Work within the system like 1000's of other people do.

Or we can use the tools available in this country to repeal those restrictions. GFY and you get used to it...

Well the law requires it to carry in a church. Just pointing that out. Permission from the Church is not enough.

It would take only one anti-gun liberal to report him to cause problems.

No way this overrides private businesses decisions. Courthouses don't scare me. Neither do police stations. I fail to see much benefit.

Sounds like a covenant marriage. Would allow some gun nuts to argue that their CCW permit is better than your CCW permit. We could create all sorts of hierarchies.
