I need some suggestions on a Duck hunting lodge / guide service for 4-8 people. I have some friends from Houston that want to come in for a hunt, and although I wish I could, I can't accommodate all of them. The Lafayette / lake Charles area is preferable since its closer for them. Anyone around there know how to duck hunt? Thanks Guys.

ETA: Bonus geese would be awesome, my southeast La grounds haven't allowed many geese opportunities

Is around $500 pretty normal for a lodged duck hunt?

I think most of those fishing guides on Big Lkae will do duck hunts too. Erik Rue, Jeff Poe, hackberry rod &gun. They all have potential geese too.

Jim Bels in Hackberry. Great hunting and fishing. Been going for 10 yrs. Great lodge, cooking, and Jim will have some great stories to share.

They're fairly reasonable, but I don't know exactly what they charge for a big duck hunt; I've used them for the past several teal seasons. Their telephone number is 337-536-7902. Call and speak with Adrienne.

What my son and I do to save a few buck is to stay at the Hampton Inn in Jennings and drive to the lodge on the morning of the hunt. It's about 20 minutes from Jennings to Doug's. They have coffee before the hunt and breakfast after the hunt. Mr. Doug Sonnier is always there and is good people.
