Gone from the website. If you want one that type and find one you should make a move.

Yeah, Colt is some how failing to make money in a market where every gun maker on the planet is making more money than they can count.

They obviously need some new management.

I read it's their non-civilian market that's bringing them down. That their civilian models are doing well but the other end is dragging down the entire company.

Sucks cause I'm a Colt man, through and through. SOMEONE buy up their operations if they go through with the bankruptcy they'd be crazy not to want to bring on the COLT name. I just hope the product doesn't suffer because of it.

This is why I bought a new Gold Cup last month. I have five Colts, would be a damn shame if private equity or a non-banking lender doesn't swoop in and restructure Colt.

Colt got too comfortable sucking on Uncle Sugar's teet.

It's amazing that with the line up of legendary firearms with the Colt name that they can't make things work, even if everyone else is making 1911's, M4 (clones), and classic revolvers.

Here's what should be their marketing slogan:

"Buy the original. Buy Colt."

I don't know if that's true or not, but it makes for interesting discussion either way. If true, it raises the question: In the current climate, how in the world can a gun company (especially one w/ the name "Colt") do poorly selling it's product in the non-civilian market? Colt must really have inferior leadership and management.

They've made some really poor choices in investing millions in an effort to diversify (non-gun related).

They've also invested heavily in overseas factories in the Asian markets that really haven't panned out.

Just bought one from Buds for a little under 900. I have been wanting one and figured I should go ahead and pull the trigger. It looks like Colt is headed to bankrupcy.

Colts problem is their debt. They owe over $250 million. They can't even pay the interest on the debt. They have no choice but to file bankrupcy at the moment. The current management team has run the company in the ground.

I bought one of these -- only because it looks like Colt is going under. Figured I'd get one with the rail.

It's a shame that such a prestigious name could go out like that
