Can someone give me a brief rundown of some of the more affordable and better built companies out there.

Looking to spend about 1000-1200.

Thanks I know there are tons of good and bad but Id like some opinions.

Build Vs. Buy complete?

There was a massive thread about AR-15's, you could probably find it if you searched.

Or someone could beat me to the punch by a second and link it for you too.

My brother has a Smith & Wesson. He doesn't like it that much.

Here is my PSA upper and Lower. BCM bcg, Magpul sights, Stock and grip. So far I love it. May swap the rail for a Midwest Industries Gen 2 SS series

In that price range I'd be looking at BCM.

Buy a Colt 6920. It is the gold standard to which all AR-15s are compared.

Just don't go crazy. If it's your first AR you really wanna learn the platform first before you go all out. Colt, Bushmaster, PSA, BCM, all good places to start.

Take out Bushmaster and that is a decent list. But PSA does not equal BCM or colt. PSA is a good starting point tho.

Only included Bushmaster cause they're cheap. Good for people who want to get into AR's but can't drop a grand.

What s wrong the yhm rail. I love mine. Almost have the same setup except I have the spector rail and psa stock. Love my first build. Just need some good optics.

Nothing is wrong with it. I like the slim MI rail and would like to give it a try.
