Saw where a buddy of mine has 3 black labs still available. 200 for the males and 400 for the females. All with shots and he has started letting them retrieve already.

Go to retrievertraining.net classifieds. A good place to start to find quality pups.

Call Clay Dosset here. Think British lab...think real hard about gouing with a British.

Prairie Plains Kennels

Clay is a good guy, very good trainer, and he has some excellent stock. He'll have pups and some started dogs this year, I think. Highly recommend. I have a helluva dog from him.

God, I want to go the started Lab route with my next hound but I can't for the life of me come to grips with dropping some of the coin I have seen for a remotely decent started dog.

I guess I will just drop a grand and get a decent puppy and start another training project.

I got a 14 month old dog from him in July. Best money I've spent in a while. Add the cost of a puppy, feed, vet bill, and your time...a started dog ( and you an see what you've got) ain't a bad way to go.

Last year he had 2 litters in the $1000.00 to 1200.00 range. Well bred pups. Don't know now.

I went to www.gundogcentral.com

I just moved to Utah and had no idea where to start looking.

I wanted an upland game labrador.

Found a litter of pointing labs that will point in a field and retrieve ducks over water.

There are lots of Louisiana breeders on this site.

Good luck!!!

We get our new pup next Monday!!!
