Swivel here but my leader (when I use one) is short enough not to pass through eyes.
I didn't explain earlier, but there's a pretty big difference between "braid" and the Super Slick... it slides through the eyes a lot differently. f anyone is looking at converting, try the SS first.

Personally, I only use swivels for drop shots, Carolina rigs and popping corks.

Or just get jerry brown and be done with it

I only use swivels for carolina rigs and spoons. Twists up the line like crazy on a spoon without the swivel.

For everyone that is suggesting monofilament.
I would like to hear the reasons why mono over braid?

I had some fun with 40 lb. Spiderwire braided line when that first came out years ago.Caught everything from trout and bull reds to sharks and dolphin with it. Cranked my Calcutta like a winch and dragged in a 30 lb. red in just a few minutes, only to find that the 40 lb. swilvel had opened and the hook was about to fall off. I remember hooking into a big log protruding from the water, and I couldn't get it free or pop the line. I tied my line off to the boat cleat and we cranked up the motor, and it pulled the whole damn tree out of the water. Eventually I got tired of the braid digging into the reel when it got wet, so I went back to mono. I've never gone too expensive on monofilament. Just something like dark green Stren 17 lb. on my spinning reel and 12-14 lb. on my baitcaster, and I've never had line troubles. Always changed it regularly when it felt "rough." I've always felt like line is one of the easier variables, and some overthink it. For trout fishing especially, a Kahle hook under a plastic rattle cork were the two variables that put fish in the boat.

Junk? I have never used it before, just had a spool and was giving it a try
when i was younger i would swear by it, hardly had any break offs in the oyster beds for reds or for trout. line would look like shite after a day full of knicks and whatnot and i would just cut off a legnth and tie again. recently, ive been having nothing but problems with it. at least one break off per trip, plus on my spinning lines that i have them on, it doesnt seem to spool tight. just falls off the spool sometimes also. i have it on my citica and it doesnt seem to spool tight on that either.

God that line sucks
I use 30lb power pro mostly for inshore. Tie a leader on for specks.
The reels that don't have 30lb braid that I use for inshore have 14-17lb suffix

I still use it, but I really just hate thin braid. The way it kinda makes noise/vibration when it runs along the guides, no give to it, rougher on your thumb casting, cuts wet skin like nobody's business, expensive.
It's something I don't like to mess with unless I feel like I have to

Stiffer for a given # test than other monos, the amount of memory it has is god awful, it knicks easier.
I mean it gets the job done, but everything bad about mono is worse with big game. And better lines aren't much more expensive.

10-4. Just wondering. I've never had an issue.
ETA: What would you suggest?

you're always hating on it.
To the OP, all I use is 30# PPro on everything.

I had lots of break off issues with PLine fluoro-coated mono. I use suffix on a lot if my rods and it's fine but still has a lot of memory. My favorite mono that I use is 12# sunline for my bass t-rig rod.

FluoroClear?
I used that line heavily last year with zero problems, caught a shitload of fish.
This years spool just seems to be different. I am getting lots of kinks in it and it just doesnt feel as smooth.
Last weekend I was fishing, cast a spinnerbait and it flew off in mid air.
I love the co-polymer design, but will be picking up some Yo-Zuri hybrid to try next.

I might have gotten a bum spool, I absolutely loved it last year.
