The people that know about it won't want to talk about it.

But, I'm interested in finding out about it as well.

The latest monster supposidly shot in there is now under investigation - apparently it was shot at night, over rice bran in a restricted area....

Yes, My son and I won the regular lottery hunt - gunning for the youth hunt next year. Learned some valuable tips about the youth hunt process in 13-14.

The most valuable piece of information I can give is if drawn, pay for the ATV permit immediately.

Yep. it was miserable. People everywhere, i almost got shot, got kicked out of my tent, slept on briars, gun jammed before shooting a 60 lb doe.

Tensas sucks. I'd stay away.

There is some truth to that.

I should walk but to get away from all the trouble and noise, I need my wheeler to get deep in them woods.

I would not set foot on TNWR to hunt the lottery - all those crazy Cajuns and rebel rednecks make for a scary scene.

How did you get kicked out of your tent? And what does your gun jamming have to do with Tensas?

i did years ago. got drawn for Tensas and Buckhorn, same weekend. stayed at some old man's unheated shack adjacent to Tensas, by myself. Saw nothing, went to Buckhonr, saw nothing there. Froze my arse off.

Kelly purkey, the manager of the refuge said my tent stakes were on refuge property. She then let me stay at her cottage.

My gun jammed because a palmetto got caught up in the bolt.

I don't know about first time entries, but there is a group of my family, about 10 of us, that put in every year and get drawn every year. There are some big deer there, and if you don't mind walkin you can get away from most of the people.

We walk about two miles past where we park our four wheelers and we've never seen anyone else hunting where we hunt.

I would be interested in hearing how this happened.

And if you stayed at the refuge manager's cottage, you'd think she would at least have put you ok some deer.
