So...me being a dumb yank transplant, I have very limited experience in the art of frogging.

Last weekend we were having a fish fry and someone brought a mess of frog legs, and they turned out fantastic. I've decided to try my luck, but I don't know where to begin. As of right now, my best source of guidance is the Duck Dynasty episode about frogging.

So whatcha got baws?

ETA: I'm pretty confident in the advise I'll receive here. A year ago I knew jack and shite about running trot lines and now I've got a freezer full of catfish.

Q-beam
Ice chest of cold brews
Small boat
Right hand

Combine these 4 and you're ready to go

Get a Qbeam and start trying. Sloped banks are usually better than steep. Season is closed until June the 1st.

Also throw them into a wet Burlap Bag, what the old timers would call a Croaker sack.

Creep through canals with Q-Beam until you spot one.
Pull up to it
Grab it
Stick it in a sack

So the best place is a canal? I've got bayou manchac which I think is too big. And a little canal in the neighborhood

Bayou Manchac should hold frogs as well as smaller bayous. tge canal we fish is bigger than Manchac.

They're usually on the bank. You'll need someone on the bow laying on their stomach to grab them and someone Driving the boat.

Most golf courses are target rich for frogs at night. Nothing like the thrill of catching frogs with the added element of going to jail for trespassing. Just watch out for the rodent killers.

You'll need a bright light and at least one hand. A boat also helps.

Correct. It's because they is breeding. Go now and you gotta have big hands to catch 2 at a time.

Fish basket is a game changer.

I also made a 5gal bucket with lid that has spring hinge hatch on it, but fish basket takes up so much less space.
