I know its probably too late to find any land for lease this year near Shreveport/Bossier but thought I would ask anyways? I recently moved back here (MILITARY) and currently don't have a place to hunt. I had land to hunt in Ringgold, but after I was moved to another location, that land has sold. Also, if nothing is available this year does anyone have any leads on land for next year? I'm not really looking for a club unless it is a trophy club that only shoots mature deer. Would prefer to lease something by myself. Thanks for your time.

If you find something let me know, I've been looking for several years

Currently hunt a 100ac spot near Benton that my buddy's dad owns, but would love another place that I could actually see deer at consistently.

I don't have any lease options for you, but look into Bodcau WMA, Loggy Bayou WMA, Bayou Pierre WMA, and the Kistachie National Forest

I have hunted Bodcau and Loggy when I was stationed here before and neither was very good experiences. My family owns about 1700 acres in Georgia, so I plan to make a few trips there, but it sure was nice having a place to hunt 45 mins from the house with Good deer on it.

I know there are some large deer out there. Just gets crowded at certain times.

I'm assuming you are stationed at Barksdale. If that's the case, look into hunting on base. There have been some really nice deer taken back there.

The base has kind of changed the way the do things, not to mention I have already missed the deadlines for picking locations. I really want to find some land to lease for next year.

Within 60 miles of SHV. 118 acres
De Soto parish.

You will have to filter results.

What's your budget? Might look into east Texas too. There's a lot of land that way worth considering.

But based on what you describe, you're chasing a unicorn. Everyone wants that. If you're willing to expand your driving range or can find some others to go in to find a bigger tract of land, you may have more luck. Best advice is to latch onto a timber co lease in the spring when they're up for lease.

Look in South Arkansas, the license is $300 + a year but they have decent deer and a lot of land (pine timber).

Camp Minden. Giant deer on their land. Being in the air force , you can hunt it.

I have a couple hundred acres in the middle of 1200 acres through a timber company. Weyerhaeuser, Deltic, and Crest are a few. I'm up around Many/Zwolle, but I saw parcels all over the state.

Would consider east Texas as well. Definitely not ruling that out. Just don't know much about quality of deer there.

I'm fine with getting a bigger tract I'd I can find it. Would consider like minded hunters as well. If not I would be fine leasing it myself.

Within an hour of SBC is going to be tough. Our properties in Bossier and DeSoto never hits the market. People just don't let go of their leases because they're so hard to find up here. Molpus or Weyerhaeuser are going to be your best bet, but I'd start checking with all the local timber companies. Start calling now and check with them regularly. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. E TX or SW AR will be easier to find something.

It can be North of bossier. Benton/plain dealing area. South of town near coushatta. It doesn't have to be bossier or Shreveport. I've called some of the big land owners south of elm grove and got out on a waiting list there. I'd be fine finding something in North East Texas if it was on the river. So any leads would be awesome. Would consider Burnsville parish as well just because a lot of that area has turkeys.
