There is no way in my right mind that I could sit in my boat 50 feet away from him all day and think that was okay.

Me neither. Hell, some of the idiot local pros will go nuts if you get within 300 yards of them.

But hey...

People go crazy at the local and regional tournament level around here. Put a little bit of money on the line and all courtesy and common sense go out the door.

I'm just like...if you are that concerned about potentially winning a couple grand you shouldn't have bought a fancy boat aka 50k depreciating asset.

Shut the lake down?

KVD doesn't catch half those fish without tons of local input. cant have your cake and eat it too

Watching the live feeds off and on this weekend he had to ask numerous times for people to back up, there should be a little more respect for these guys during these tournaments, especially from observers that fish and know better

He has earned millions of dollars for fishing. He can fricking deal with it.

"It's Gods water."

But personally I would feel like an arse for following him around.

Because they never shut any public property down for special events

One of the guides we talked to this weekend said KVD had about 60 people scouting the lake for him leading up to the event. There's certain rules that prevent them from getting info within a certain amount of time leading up to the event, but he knew where he was fishing on the Bend a month before the tourney.

Cranks will be sold

Not for awhile they won't be. KVD gets prototype stuff almost a year before the other pros do.

Exactly, his GPS probably had 30 pins on it, provided by the same folks watching.

Not saying he isn't one hundred times the fisherman I am, just sayin they get a bunch of help

Oh yeah. He still has to go out and catch em. And I'm not willing to get a few $15 crankbaits hung on stumps in 20 feet of water.

I like the people that yell at him from catching "their" fish from their docks. Spraying them with water hoses and what not. There's a rule about soliciting advice in B.A.S.S. and how they can't do it. (wintin a time period). SO this guy is on the end of his dock yelling "Fish here, There's fish right under here, I told you that and now you can't fish here" The marshal reminded him that that was unsolicited advice so he kept on fishing.

While the lakes are public water, in my eyes people that do this are absolute pricks. Sit back with a pair of binoculars if you want to watch the guy fish. It's his career and how he feeds his family that you are fricking with by crawling all over the top of him.

The real story here are doosh-types who can't find their own fish. They haul arse out there to see where others are fishing and then pile in because they are too sorry/lazy/ignorant to find spots of their own.

Would be the same as if someone who knew you killed big bucks on public land following you around in the woods to see where you hunt and then hunting that spot the next morning/afternoon.
Sorry frickin POS's in my book.

Back in the day my old man was pretty well known around Lake Eufaula for winning some big tourneys. He drew a marshal out of the Atlanta area for a Federation State tourney years back. First thing Pop says is don't EVEN think about trying to GPS my spots.(My old man had 30 plus years experience on Eufaula and thousands of dollars spent on gas finding some of these spots FWIW).
Anyhow my old man pulls up on one of his fav ledges and procedes to boat a 7 plus in the first couple casts. After putting the sow in the livewell Dad notices the marshal fiddling in his pocket and nonchalantly asks the guy if that's the newest Garmin gps handheld. Guy pulls it out and says sure is. Dad asks to look at it and "accidently " drops it over the side. Then looked the guy square in the eye and told him "Well those damn fish are marked perfectly now, aren't they".

Not two words were exchanged the rest of the day I was told.

I would rather eat razor blades than watch another guy fish all day

Just edit it to 40 minutes then show it to me

Thst said, the guys that are being followed are generally making a whole lot more thru endorsements than they are fishing

I Feel sorry for the guy that guides for a living for real that loses his spots every year, but I don't care if you screw up the touring guys

Kevin has no right to tell those other boats to back up. I know he's a good fisherman but he doesn't own Toledo Bend
