Anyone been to the ATV trails out there? I was doing a little research on their website about it, shows that they have miles and miles of trails but not sure how much of it is for ATV's? Just wondering if it's worth the trip from B.R. to ride there?

There are tons of roads you can go down, but the bike/hiking trails aren't for ATVs. The old logging roads are fun stuff with 4bys, but they're still roads. I grew up out there.

You want the Claiborne trails though. It's an old army base and you can pretty much do whatever you want out there, at least you could back in the day. I know you can ride out there, fun stuff too.

Correct, the Claiborne Trails are off of an old military base out of Forest Hill, LA. They do have a few restrictions on width and tire lug depth if Im not mistaken. I always say we want to go but we usually never think about it and end up at LA Dunes instead.

Claiborne sounds like fun, I'll have to look it up. I know my quad meets the width restriction but I don't think they'll like my Outlaws much.

Thanks for the info fellas.

I noticed a bunch of atv's on my way to Houston a few months ago. Left Leesville heading west on La. 8 towards Jasper. Seems theres a new dirt track, trail or something on Tx. Hwy 63 east of Jasper.

Yep, Laws are definately frowned upon there and if Im not mistaken it's patrolled by Rangers that will stop you and possibly write a ticket. There is another place in Washington(just north of Opelousas) that might be better suited for you. It's supposed to be more mud oriented. Ive never been so I can't say much. Im supposed to be going this weekend with a buddy of mine who's been a few times so I'll be able to check it out.

Nope, not in Colfax. This place is just out of Opelousas in Washington. A buddy of mine rides there often but Ive never been. I'll see if I can find more info on the place.

Here's a flyer for the place in Washington. Supposed to be about 80 acres of trails, mud, hills and ponds.

KNF has about 30 miles of trails, a south loop and a much smaller north loop. Not much mud but alot of hills and stream crossings, it's usually very dusty if they have no recent rains.

It definately small but from what I understand there's enough to keep you plenty entertained for the better part of the day.

the claiborne trails would be a lot of fun for a sport bike or a dirt bike. there are restrictions for the larger 4 x 4 bikes. if you have stock tires, you will be good to go. went out there a few times some years back on a stock bike and had a good time. lots of trails if thats what you're lookign for. they used to advertise something like 90 miles of trails. dont know if that is stil the case or not. didnt cost much either, it was like a few dollars for each TRUCK in the parking lot. i used to haul 5 bikes up there and we wouls all ride for like 5 bucks.

You guys that are from the Kisatchie vicinity - where are you from. I've spent time on and off in Pollock, LA all my life - in laws are there.
