Copperhead venom isn't effective on other snakes?

Not on king snakes. They are immune to venom from the other snakes around here. (except maybe coral snakes? i'm not sure about them.)

One of my friends from high school posted that exact pic on his FB page yesterday.

Yep, when I was a kid, one of our neighbors spent an entire day trying to find one to get it out of his flower bed. We tried to explain the folly of his plan, but he was a transplanted yankee and just couldn't grasp the concept of a "good snake."

If I ever see a king snake in the wild not on my property, I'm going to catch it and release it on my property. Eff a venomous snake.
