My BIL just did a DPF and UREA delete plus programmed his. He kept trying to get a good launch last time I rode with him but he damn near needs slicks to get any traction. When it does grab, it snaps your neck. My 6.2 aint got shite on it.

I know for a fact a 2011 chevy duramax can tow that much...

All BS aside though, that is pretty crazy.

When I graduate I'm going on the warpath to find a 4x4 dodge with the 5.9 stripped interior and 6 spd manual

Yea. I hate a plushy interior on a truck. The king ranch and denalli trucks make me big time.

They are very badass. I don't like fords because the back springs are too soft and they always have been. Hook up a gooseneck to a ford and it's already squatting like hell before you even put anything on it. Sure they ride great, but who gives a frick how a 3/4 ton truck rides? Chevy has the spring rates right on their shite.

My main problem with the chevy is the IFS. I hate that they put IFS on HD trucks, and the fender wells leave very little room for bigger tires, which I hate.

Dodge has the cummins, D60 front axle, and good spring rates. The bad thing is you get all this awesome hardware with a dodge truck built around it.

Just because it's plushy doesn't mean I don't do some work in it son.

Of course it doesnt.

I don't want to spend money on that shite though. It's more stuff to screw up and I don't need it.

You sound poor. It's okay Downshift...as an engineer you'll make some money one day and you'll be able to upgrade like the rest of us.

I'm definitely poor. I wrote the book on living check to check.

I don't see my opinion changing on truck interiors though no matter how much money I make. I like simple and durable vehicles.

Hell if I bought a camero tomorrow I'd want the biggest baddest engine they had with the most stripped out interior

I don't have that problem. I have beer money set aside 100% of the time. The gas and food accounts will run out before the beer one does.

Maybe you've hooked that much up to one and it pulled it, but I was talking factory specs. Chevy is currently best in class with a 23,100 rating...the 2013 Ram will be factory rated at 30,000. There are some interesting articles on pickuptrucks.com right now about it.

They also put a new/beefed up trans behind the 6.7 cummins and boosted max tq. to 850lb/ft. Some pretty absurd numbers Won't be long before the gov. steps in and puts a stop/cap on this HD competition.

Downshift, I thought that way as well for a long time...but with higher income comes higher spending At a certain level you start thinking "hell, I deserve it"...coupled with the fact you're spending 10s of thousands already why not just spurge on a a few $4k extra for the KR?

It actually didn't seem to mind pulling it that much. You could definitely tell there was a whole bunch back there, but it had the power.

I haven't pulled with any of the new dodge's. 850ft/lbs is completely ridiculous. I'm sure the other two will be right behind them though.

The government needs to keep their yuppies policies out of diesel motors. You wanna reduce pollution? Get rid of all that DPF and EGR bullshite and let the manufacturers do what they are capable of. With modern fuel management we'd have 3/4 and 1 ton trucks getting 35mpg and towing 18k lbs. Burning less diesel=making less bad emissions.
