I currently have an old town sit in fishing kayak. I was thinking about selling it and getting a cheaper sit on top kayak. Am I better off in the nicer sit in or the cheaper sit on top.

Look for a used ascend sit on top. 350-400ish. Big step up from the SOT you posted

Yeah I don't have a trailer, I want to be able to lift it on top of my tahoe by myself.

You can lift a 12'. I would not buy a 10'.

I owned that 10ft SOT, owned implying past tense. It was a backup for my girlfriend or someone else to use to tag along. It was small, cramped, tracked like crap and was about the equivalent of paddling a leaf in terms of stability. Anyone who used it really didn't like it and once I got in it I instantly saw why and got rid of it.

Honestly keep saving if you can. There was an older model FS12T on Craigslist a few days ago for a decent price. I'll try to find it.

ETA: LINK Ascend FS12T w/ Bending Branches paddle for $485. I'd try to talk him down a little more but this will be a way better option than any of the 2 you've linked.

see if you can find one of these on clearance for $299. I own one, it is stable, tracks well and since it is on clearance is VERY reasonably priced at $299!

prowler 13.

original owner put anchor trolleys down both sides and wired a cheap fish finder on it.

I took one trolly off and installed the OK rudder.

id depart with it for 750. including all my accessories, seat, paddle, paddle cord, etc.

I have a Malibu mini X I'll sell you. It's a pig in the water but it's pretty stable. It's extremly light so I can launch it anywhere.

I know they are a little pricey, but I have a KC and it is pretty awesome for what I use it for. I do a lot of sight fishing using a fly rod and being able to stand on top of the seat really makes all the difference in the world for me. It's 12 feet and I lift it on top of my SUV all the time and I am not a big guy by any means. If you are really serious about kayak fishing, I would look into them.

I sold my sit in on craigslist within 2 days of posting it. Kayaks in general are a hot item right now.

I turned around and bought a new Ascend FS12T camo. Best decision I ever made.
